L is for Lover

For the second year I decided to participate in the A-Z Blogging Challenge.  Each April bloggers write for 26 days (Sundays off). Each day is a consecutive letter of the alphabet.

Today is April 14th   and the Lusty letter L (very appropriate too)

**

A poem from the section “In the Shadows” from The Bench

Eric from True Blood

Eric from True Blood

My Lover

Into my sleep you did creep.

Into my dreams you danced.

I smelled your memories,

Playing by the sea,

In a land far away.

You touched my soul.

You felt my dreams.

The taste of your yesterdays,

old, earthen, dark

in my mind.

Like whispers in my heart.

I held up my neck,

smooth and ever so soft.

You bit.

Crimson droplets

on my pillow.

Finally !!

Breaking free of the mortal soul,

leaving behind earthly woes.

Freedom!

My lover!

We shall walk forever

into the good night.

Lovingly  reading your L posts

  1. My favourite vampire… Hmmm, that’s a hard one! I think I’ll go with Jerry from Fright Night!

  2. Why that’s the most romantic vampire thing I’ve ever read. I didn’t realize it till I got to the end. Well done!

Wow, I had no idea Eric was so … well-built! I rather liked Bill in the first few seasons of True Blood, but haven’t seen the next ones, so I could very well become a fan of Eric as well!
Do you remember Mick St. John of Moonlight? He’s one of my faves.
But, as you can probably see, I’ve rarely met a vampire (the new age ones anyway) that didn’t make me swoon …
Your poem is so sultry–and delicious!

  4. Elin Gregory says:

I’m old school and love Dracula. 🙂

  5. I kinda prefer the living. 🙂 I am a really big fan of the movie, Zombieland. Does that count? I like Steven Montano’s novels. Zombies and vampires…and neither sparkle. There are others. Eleri Stone penned some good ones. Nah, I still prefer unaltered male human s. Lol. Good poem. Very sensual. Hopeful. Triumphant.

  6. My favorite vampire? Anyone who looks like the hunk, above. 🙂 Was extra nice clicking on your blog today, and seeing such inviting image, not to mention the poem. Very nice, Susan.

Oh my favorite vampire may well be Eric from the Sookie/True Blood series. 🙂 He’s so pretty.
