H is for Horses

For the second year I decided to participate in the A-Z Blogging Challenge.  Each April bloggers write for 26 days (Sundays off). Each day is a consecutive letter of the alphabet.

Today is April 9th   and the  Heavenly letter H

Fantasy Dream is another drabble from The Bench. It actually contains 106 words including the prompt.

Remember, a prompt is a word or phrase (or photo) to elicit creativity.

Fantasy Dream

Over the Hill and Far Away or so it seems from my perspective. The tree stoops, its leaves leisurely float soundlessly to the snow covered ground, like angels’ tears. Five bright blue horses calmly amble among the branches, several bending to nibble the sweet grass, while others stand in place, hushed, as if waiting for the artist to paint their portrait. The contrast and allure:   blue animals, white snow and green plant, together with the golden and cadmium red foliage, this idyllic scene that I gaze upon, wounds my soul.  I gravitate toward the vision. The image must be real. Dreams are never this breath taking.

Can’t Hardly wait to see your posts

When I posted this a friend argued with the last line. She said dreams can be breath taking, but rarely reality. What do you think?

  2. Lovely. I think it shows the wonder of what the beholder is seeing. Sheer wonder… The painting is perfect. Was it the prompt? 🙂 A fantasy. 🙂

I believe this was a prompt from my blogophilia group and it just came together – I love your comments 🙂

  3. Some of my dreams are so vivid and feel so real, I wake up not only our of breath, but I’m unable to go back to sleep, as broken images re-play in my mind and don’t give me peace. Dream are part of us, our psyche, our emotions, they sure feel as real as any reality. To me, anyway.

Love this! It made me think of the book The Scorpio Races (which I highly recommend, if you haven’t read it yet). Great post for the letter ‘H’ 🙂

  6. Rosie Amber says:

I just wish I could remember more of my dreams when I wake up!

  7. I think dreams are less breathtaking than reality. However, if the dream is an unsettling one, I do wake up out of breath. Dreams for me are never as vivid as my imagination.

  8. Beautiful piece, great description.
